Web Governance - Roles and Responsibilities
The major goal of the Web Governance project is to unify all business units within the Marketing department and move forward as a whole as new technologies emerge. Each member of a business unit fits into one or more of the groups below. Although these groups are already known to many individuals, the aim is to keep everyone on the same page moving forward, and long into the future. NEW: SEE WORKGROUP BELOW.
Marketing
Marketing is responsible for organization and quality of content promoted on Kaplan-affiliated and branded websites, as well as strategic campaigns, reporting, and analysis.
Business Units
An individual marketing business unit is responsible for strategic implementation and corresponding website content they represent. KHE is a shared service business unit providing Strategic and Creative Services to unify all business units, while all other business units employ their own Strategic and Creative services dedicated to their specific target audience.
IT
IT provides Marketing with technical platforms to promote campaigns and tools to efficiently maintain, organize, and measure web content. They also serve as a technical consultant to aid in establishing processes, standards and best practices.
Steering Committee
The Steering Committee is comprised of one or more representatives from each KHE business unit who meet regularly to review website initiatives that cross multiple business units. The Steering Committee unites to develop a strategic vision and tactical implementation plans to support the specific goals of each business, in consideration of all business units. Once the collective strategy has been identified, the Steering Committee works with IT to define and solidify technical specifications.
